LGU-Camalig through its COVID-19 Task Force continuously welcomes returnees/Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) at the Camalig Training Center (CTC) located at Brgy. Salugan, Camalig, Albay – the town’s centralized screening/holding area.
     
    Pursuant to Executive Order No. 56, all persons returning to the municipality of Camalig, Albay whether LSI, Authorized Person Outside of Residence (APOR), Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF), Frontliner, foreigner, regardless of age, travelling via private or public vehicle, are mandatorily required to proceed immediately to CTC.
     
    Personnel under the Municipal Health Office (MHO)/ Municipal Epidemiology & Surveillance Unit (MESU), and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (MDRRMO) are deployed at said facility to conduct disinfection, interviews, profiling, rapid/PCR/swab testing, and other COVID-related operations to contain possible spread of the deadly virus.
     
    Following thorough assessment, returnees are then transported to their respective quarantining/isolation facilities where the mandatory 14-day quarantine starts off.
     
    CTC screening/holding area started operating 24/7 since September 14, 2020 in anticipation of returnees arriving at night time.
     
    The establishment of a 24/7 centralized screening/holding area for returnees seeks to ensure harmonized arrival-to-quarantining process and round-the-clock public service, furthering the local government’s innovative COVID-19 prevention and control efforts.
     
    As of January 29, 2021, 11:00AM, 6 returnees comprised of 5 LSIs, 1 OFWs have been accommodated by CTC.
     
    To date, the municipality of Camalig, Albay has 21 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 17 recoveries , 2 deaths, and 2 currently active, Patient#4073 from Brgy. 6, and Patient#4093 from Brgy. Ligban.
