Following confirmation by the Department of Health (DOH) regarding Camalig’s latest Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, the Municipal Health Emergency Response Team (MHERT) immediately mobilized its functionaries to render protocols in containing further spread of COVID-19.
The Municipal Health Office through its Sanitation Team conducted immediate disinfection of households and thoroughfares at Brgy. Sumlang and Brgy. Cotmon – residences of Patient#4387 and Patient#4388.
The two patients as verified by DOH are both close contacts of Patient#4305 from Legazpi City.
The MHERT also partnered with the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) of Brgy. Sumlang and Brgy. Cotmon in the contact-tracing efforts to contain further transmission of said virus to the community.
Moreover, request for swab testing for the eleven (11) close contacts of Patient#4387 and Patient#4388 has been sent to the Provincial Health Office (PHO) for approval.
Similar COVID-19 prevention and control operations are ongoing to accelerate the town’s pandemic response and recovery pace.
As of February 3, 2021, the municipality of Camalig, Albay has 23 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 19 recoveries, 2 deaths, and 2 currently active.
