Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) in the town attend the orientation regarding the upcoming municipal-wide vaccine rollout, Rural Health Unit (RHU) function hall, Brgy 2, Poblacion, Camalig, Albay.
 
Said orientation focused on vaccine general knowledge and the actual vaccine deployment, citing essential strategies and mechanisms to be carried out once the vaccine becomes available.
 
In line with LGU-Camalig’s plan of implementing a cluster-based vaccination, the involvement of the BHWs in the facilitation of vaccination efforts within their respective areas of responsibility was also highlighted.
 
To increase the public’s demand generation, BHWs were instructed to constantly relay health education to the community as part of the Local Task Force for COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment’s (LTFCVD) advocacy in eliminating vaccine misconceptions and fear.
 
Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carlos Irwin G. Baldo, Jr. likewise encouraged the participants to avail the vaccine as its benefits are crucial especially in achieving herd immunity to finally suppress the transmission of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
 
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, BHWs in Camalig, Albay have been functioning as augmentation to the response and recovery initiatives of LGU-Camalig.
