The Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG) rehires Contact Tracers for LGU-Camalig as augmentation to the municipality’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) response and recovery efforts.
A total of ten (10) out of the previous thirty (30) Contact Tracers were allowed to renew their contracts which will run for at least six (6) months – the previous 3-month contract ended last December 31, 2020.
With re-emerging COVID-19 cases in the town, LGU-Camalig sees the redeployment of Contact Tracers as additional leverage in the campaign against the ongoing pandemic.
The Contact Tracers were initially deployed by DILG in October 2020 to support LGU-Camalig’s COVID-19 mitigation and containment initiatives.
Apart from rendering contact-tracing functions, the Contact Tracers were also assigned additional tasks including monitoring, screening, and profiling of returnees/Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs), proper filling up of Case Investigation Forms (CIFs), and facilitation in the maintenance of the Camalig Training Center (CTC) screening/holding area for arriving individuals.
The contact tracers are also urged to constantly and courteously relay health education to the barangays, reiterating the importance of practicing the public minimum health standards set by the Department of Health (DOH) and other provisions of COVID-related Executive Orders.
