Earlier today, LGU-Camalig together with OIC DE Warren B. Azotea of the Albay 2nd District Engineering Office led the inspection of the Libod – Salugan Bypass Road to check the development of the ongoing road project at said area.
The 4-kilometer bypass road seeks to alleviate traffic congestion in the town’s commercial district, facilitate better transport of goods and movement of rescue services, and cut travel time for motorists.
Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carlos Irwin G. Baldo, Jr. likewise appealed to the concerned office to fast track the implementation of the road project as its completion will eventually redound to more convenient and safer benefits for the general public.
Highlighting safety during the recent inspection, LGU-Camalig and the 2nd DEO are set to implement improved civil works through the extension of traffic islands, installation of reflectorized road markings/signs especially in the accident-prone areas, and other similar public safety interventions.
In the 2nd quarter of 2020, the Libod – Salugan Bypass Road was initially designated as an alternative route for public and private vehicles without important transactions at the Camalig commercial district.
