The Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG) Provincial Screening Committee paid a courtesy call today at the Mayor’s Office, 3rd flr., Mytalic Bldg., Camalig Municipal Hall, Brgy. 2, Poblacion.

The visit is in line with the committee’s validation on the road-clearing program initially carried out by LGU-Camalig for a period of four (4) months in compliance with Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2020-145 by DILG.

LGU-Camalig is currently targeting for a higher compliance rating this 2021 through its intensive conduct of road-clearing programs including enactment of relative ordinances, clearing of obstructions and structural encroachments, imposition of convenient traffic routes, designation of proper parking schemes, management of tricycles-for-hire, and relocation of displaced vendors.

As validation nears, LGU-Camalig has been instrumental in implementing sustainable mechanisms and in improving its existing road-clearing operations with the collaborative efforts of the Municipal Engineering Office (MEO), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Planning & Development Office (MPDO), DILG, and the Office of the Market Administrator.

Validation in the municipal-level is set to be conducted next week.

During the first phase of the program, LGU-Camalig scored 87, garnering a “high compliance” rating in the road-clearing validation.
