LGU-Camalig through the Municipal Engineering Office (MEO) led the clearing operations at Brgy. 1, Poblacion, Camalig, Albay.
After more than ten (10) months of temporary suspension due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the clearing operations officially resume in compliance with Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2020-145 by the Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG).
As per said memorandum circular, areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) are now allowed to conduct clearing operations, prompting LGU-Camalig to mobilize functionaries in clearing roads and other public areas.
During the activity, eyesores, obstructions, and illegal structures were cleared to open convenient spaces for the general public.
To recall, last November 16, 2020, LGU-Camalig re-activated, through Executive Order No. 53, the Municipal Road Network & Clearing Task Force (MRNCTF) purposely to serve as an augmentation team in the enforcement, implementation, management, and supervision of all the plans, programs, projects, and other similar public safety and clearing activities.
Massive clearing operations are ongoing in the town with the end view of relieving national roads, streets, and thoroughfares from obstructions that pose risks to residents particularly motorists and pedestrians.
