Earlier today, the Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG) completed the municipal-wide validation for the road-clearing operations in Camalig, Albay.
Conducted by the DILG Provincial Screening Committee, streets and thoroughfares in the town’s commercial district were thoroughly assessed based from the criteria under Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2020-145 by DILG.
LGU-Camalig resumed its road-clearing operations in November 2020 after more than eight (8) months of temporary suspension due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and previous implementation of stricter community quarantines (ECQ, GCQ, and MGCQ).
Since its resumption, LGU-Camalig has been instrumental in implementing sustainable mechanisms and in improving its existing road-clearing operations with the collaborative efforts of the Municipal Engineering Office (MEO), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Planning & Development Office (MPDO), DILG, and the Office of the Market Administrator.
Results of the validation will be released in the coming days.
During the first phase of the program, LGU-Camalig scored 87, garnering a “high compliance” rating – the municipality is targeting for a higher rating in the road-clearing validation this year.
