The Municipal Health Emergency Response Team (MHERT) have convened today to reinforce its Coronavirus (COVID-19) efforts under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), Mayor’s Office conference room, 3rd flr., Mytalic Bldg., Camalig Municipal Hall, Camalig, Albay.
Following issuance by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) of Resolution No. 101, s. 2021, citing new guidelines under the respective community quarantines, the MHERT was opted to amend provisions regarding travel restriction and quarantine protocols in the municipality.
Said protocols are incorporated in Executive Order No. 7, s. 2021 – the recently issued executive order purposely to mitigate and contain the spread of COVID-19 with the participation of LGU-Camalig’s partner agencies, officials, and barangay representatives/functionaries.
Among others, the continuous practice of the minimum public health standards including social/physical distancing, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and wearing of face masks and face shields was highlighted.
Travel Authority and Notice of Coordination will also no longer be required.
In response to the possible influx of returnees due to the gradual relaxation of community quarantine protocols, the MHERT is set to implement stricter and close-coordinated interventions to sustain the town’s pandemic response initiatives.
As of March 1, 2021, Camalig, Albay has a total of 25 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 23 recoveries and 2 deaths – the municipality remains COVID-free for 9 consecutive days.
