The Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG) Albay Provincial Office holds a Capacity Development (CAPDEV) orientation at the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Session Hall, Camalig Municipal Hall, Brgy. 2, Poblacion, Camalig, Albay.
This activity aims to orient LGU-Camalig Department Heads on the concept of Capacity Development and its importance to accountable, transparent, participatory, and effective local governance.
During the activity, the participants formulated a development agenda for Camalig relative to the local government’s objective in ensuring efficient public service for the Camaligueños and a “leveled-up” municipality through the implementation of sustainable interventions.
Moreover, additional priority programs and development thrusts were identified and incorporated in the LGU’s Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) to cover the economic, environment, social, and institutional needs of the general public.
The CAPDEV also seeks to muster the collaborative engagement between the department heads in planning community-centric programs to mitigate the impacts brought by recent disasters and the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carlos Irwin G. Baldo, Jr. likewise highlighted the importance of ensuring the functionality of each department, reiterating that improved public service will redound to the upliftment of the lives of the Camaligueños especially the marginalized sector.
