Following confirmation by the Department of Health (DOH) regarding Patient#5046 – Camalig’s 26th Coronavirus (COVID-19) case, functionaries under the Municipal Epidemiology & Surveillance Unit (MESU) were immediately mobilized to render interventions against the spread of COVID-19.
Patient#5046 as validated and confirmed by the MESU is a 55-year old female frontliner and resident of Brgy. Ilawod who initially experienced symptoms last March 6, 2021.
As part of the urgent protocols to mitigate and contain said virus, the MESU have partnered with the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) of Brgy. Ilawod in the tracing of individuals who may have come in contact with Patient#5046.
The MESU also advised the BHERT/barangay representatives to cancel barangay assemblies and other crowd-gathering activities.
Disinfection will also be carried out in selected households and thoroughfares of Brgy. Ilawod to prevent possible transmission of COVID-19 to the community.
Patient#5046 is currently confined at Bicol Regional Training & Teaching Hospital (BRTTH).
As of March 17, 2021, the municipality of Camalig, Albay has 26 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 23 recoveries, 2 deaths, and 1 currently active.
