The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (MDRRMO) holds an exit conference for the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Survey Team of the Department of Environment & Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Office V.
Following conclusion of the survey team’s month-long vulnerability and risk assessment operations in Camalig, Albay, the MDRRMO expressed gratitude to DENR for its initiative in strengthening LGU-Camalig’s disaster risk reduction and development thrusts.
The MGB-DENR survey team initially visited households in the urban and rural barangays and made an inventory of elements at risk including population, buildings, and other infrastructures to determine their vulnerability to existing hazards particularly landslides and flood.
The MGB-DENR survey team is composed of sixteen (16) Geologists.
After the field assessment, accumulated data will be used for the risk analysis which results will come in the form of maps and technical report and will serve as a reference for the disaster-related plans and programs of LGU-Camalig.
