In its commitment in improving market traffic and situation at the town’s commercial district, LGU-Camalig holds a consultation meeting with the market vendors, Camalig Public Market, Brgy. 6, Poblacion, Camalig, Albay.
Discussions mainly delved in the key recommendations to alleviate market congestion and various public inconveniences in one of the town’s busiest areas.
LGU-Camalig plans to relocate vendors situated at the old market (wet and dry section) to Brgy. Salugan to give way for the construction of a new multi-purpose center/modernized market facility for the convenience and safety of both occupants and market-goers.
Last February 18, 2021, the Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH) and the Municipal Engineering Office (MEO) jointly conducted an inspection at the public market which focused on the said establishment’s renovation.
The renovation also seeks to upgrade the public market and bring it to higher standards through refurbished walls, replacement of dilapidated structures, improved ventilation, and other similar repair works.
