To popularize and sustain the provisions under the Children Welfare Code of Camalig, Albay, the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) holds meeting at the MDRRMC Operations & Training Center, 2nd flr., Mytalic Bldg., Camalig Municipal Hall, Brgy. 2, Poblacion, Camalig, Albay.
Said meeting seeks to address issues and formulate plans, programs, and other interventions relevant to the needs of one of the vulnerable sectors in the town.
During the activity, the council tackled the proposed 2022 LCPC Plan – a comprehensive plan comprised of mechanisms and programs devised to monitor, prepare, implement capacity-building programs, and enforce laws and policies for the survival, development, and protection of children.
The LCPC also prepares for the upcoming Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) which is set to assess LGU-Camalig’s performance in implementing child-friendly programs and services intended to promote and uplift children’s welfare.
The CFLGA uses indicators covering governance and the four core rights of children, namely survival, development, protection and participation.
Further strengthening its advocacy in fostering a “leveled-up” Camalig, LCPC initiatives complement one of the mandates under the 12-point Executive Agenda – responsive and urgent delivery of social welfare services especially for vulnerable communities.
