The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (MDRRMO) reintroduces stricter COVID-19 mitigation and containment protocols during the Liga ng mga Barangay meeting, Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Session Hall, Camalig Municipal Hall, Brgy. 2, Poblacion, Camalig, Albay.
As the threat of local Coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission re-emerges in the town, LGU-Camalig remains responsive in the campaign against said virus.
In its latest pronouncement, dated April 20, 2021, LGU-Camalig issued the updated guidelines on the conduct of fiesta celebrations in the municipality.
Stricter guidelines were issued due to the increasing COVID-19 cases (8 active cases to date) in the town and in anticipation of various fiesta celebrations between April and May wherein possible transmission may be heightened through public gathering and convergence specifically in Brgy. Ligban, Mina, Bongabong, Binanderahan, Gapo, Gotob, Libod, Taladong, Palanog, and Manawan.
Notable directives include strict compliance with the minimum public health standards, limitation of public gatherings, regulation of videoke singing and consumption of liquor, prohibition of “pabayle” and parlor games with physical contact, age restriction, and other public safety efforts.
To ensure effective implementation, the MDRRMO further highlighted the crucial role of the Punong Barangays in the surveillance and monitoring of individuals in their respective areas of responsibility – personnel under the Philippine National Police (PNP) are also set to maximize police presence at said areas.
