Four (4) frontline health workers in Camalig, Albay have received their second dose of Sinovac vaccine, Josefina Belmonte Duran Albay Provincial Hospital (JBDAPH), Brgy. Tuburan, Ligao City.
In reference to the guidelines set by the Department of Health (DOH), frontline health workers are listed as the top priority group in the vaccine rollout considering their functions and responsibilities especially in strengthening the local government’s pandemic response and recovery efforts.
The 4 frontline health workers initially received their first doses last April 12, 2021.
In the first quarter of 2021, Doctors, Public Health Nurses (PHNs), Human Resources for Health (HRHs), Municipal Health Office (MHO) Staff, Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs), and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) also received their first vaccine doses initially donated by the national government.
Functioning as the first line of defense in the fight against the ongoing pandemic, said individuals are also part of the town’s vaccination team which has been active in the conduct of the municipal-wide vaccine rollout – a total of four hundred and fifty (450) Camaligueños comprised of frontliners, senior citizens, indigent residents, and uniformed personnel have so far been inoculated in Camalig, Albay.
As of May 10, 2021, Camalig, Albay has 57 confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases including 40 recoveries, 5 deaths, and 12 active.
