The Municipal Health Emergency Response Team (MHERT) continuously welcomes returnees/Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) at the Camalig Training Center (CTC), Brgy. Salugan, Camalig, Albay – the town’s centralized screening/holding area.
Pursuant to Executive Order No. 15-2021, all persons returning to the municipality whether LSI, Authorized Person Outside of Residence (APOR), Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF), frontliner, foreigner, regardless of age, travelling via private or public vehicle, are mandatorily required to proceed immediately to CTC to undergo profiling, health assessment, and other protocols to contain possible spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
CTC screening/holding area started operating 24/7 since September 14, 2020 in anticipation of returnees arriving at night time – the facility is regularly maintained to ensure cleanliness and prevent possible risk of COVID-19 transmission.
CTC also serves as a swab testing center for Persons Under Investigation (PUMs) and close contacts of confirmed/active COVID-19 cases in the town.
The centralized screening/holding area seeks to ensure harmonized arrival-to-quarantining process and round-the-clock public service, furthering the local government’s innovative COVID-19 prevention and control efforts.
Today, 18 asymptomatic returnees (arrived without symptoms) composed of 17 LSIs and 1 OFW have so far been accommodated by CTC.
As of May 12, 2021, Camalig, Albay has a total of 58 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 43 recoveries, 5 deaths, and 10 active.
