The Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) received a total of one thousand (1,000) bags of certified palay seeds (NSIC RC 222) from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development & Mechanization (PHilMech).
Said products are set to be distributed to rice farmers enrolled in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).
Acquired through the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program, this intervention aims to boost farm productivity through implementation of sustainable agricultural strategies especially in the time of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The turnover of certified palay seeds also forms part of the government’s campaign in accelerating the town’s agricultural and economic pace with the end goal of ensuring earning capabilities of farmers and food on the table for every family.
