To avoid overcrowding at the town’s commercial district, satellite markets are set up in the various barangays since March 23, 2020.
A total of four (4) satellite markets are currently operating in Brgy. Cotmon (Mondays and Thursdays), Brgy. Iluluan (Tuesdays and Fridays), Brgy. Salugan (Tuesdays and Fridays), and Brgy. Baligang (Saturdays), 5:00AM onwards.
In compliance with the guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and the Department of Health (DOH) regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) mitigation and containment, vendors and market-goers are advised to follow the minimum public health standards including wearing of face masks and shields, observance of social/physical distancing, and proper hand hygiene.
This interventions forms part of LGU-Camalig’s best practices devised to ease the burden of residents living in far-flung barangays and limit public convergence to prevent possible spread of COVID-19 to the community.
In line with its campaign in ensuring health and safety of the general public, the sanitation team under the Municipal Health Office (MHO) regularly makes rounds at said establishments and other frequented areas.
