The Municipal Health Emergency Response Team (MHERT) immediately carried out interventions to contain further spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) following confirmation by the Department of Health (DOH) regarding the town’s recent positive cases.
The MHERT conducted tracing of individuals who may have come in contact with Patients #13198 and #13303 from Brgy. Sumlang, #13304, #13305, and #13306 from Brgy. Libod, #13307 and #13308 from Brgy. Palanog, #13309 from Brgy. 6, and #13356 from Brgy. Quirangay – a total of fifteen (15) close contacts have so far been identified.
As part of the contact-tracing protocols, Case Investigation Forms (CIFs), profiles, and linelist of the close contacts will be sent to the Provincial Health Office (PHO) for swab test approval.
Selected households, thoroughfares, and other areas within the 5 affected barangays also underwent disinfection to prevent possible transmission of said virus to the community.
Earlier today, Camalig, Albay recorded 8 COVID-19 cases – the highest single-day tally of new positive cases since the outbreak of the virus in early 2020.
As of June 7, 2021, the municipality has a total of 103 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 64 recoveries, 8 deaths, and 31 currently active.
