LGU-Camalig through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (MDRRMO) distributes copies of Executive Order No. 25, s. 2021 to barangay representatives as part of the local government’s thrust in the campaign against Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Otherwise known as “An Order Re-establishing the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in the Municipality of Camalig, Albay”, the EO took effect yesterday, June 7, 2021, purposely to strengthen public awareness and compliance regarding stringent protocols to prevent and control COVID-19 transmission.
Notable provisions under said EO include the reimposition of the liquor ban, extension of curfew hours, prohibition of the distribution and retrieval of modules, and closure of selected public establishments and contact-sport venues.
The Philippine National Police and the MDRRMO are also set to conduct surveillance and monitoring operations at the barangays to ensure effective implementation of the EO.
In response to the rising of COVID-19 cases in the town, LGU-Camalig eyes to strengthen its efforts through the involvement of barangay officials and the entire Camaligueño constituency.
As of June 8, 2021, Camalig, Albay has a total of 103 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 64 recoveries, 8 deaths, and 31 currently active.
