LGU-Camalig through the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), distributed farm tools to the town’s identified schools as part of the “Gulayan sa Paaralan” program.
The “Gulayan sa Paaralan” initiative aims to lay the foundation for economic development through the elimination of nutritional deficiency and establishment of productive communities which efforts focus on food and environmental sustainability.
Members of the 4H Club, Rural Improvement Club (RIC), and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) also received assorted vegetable seeds for their vegetable communal garden under the Albay Family Based Food Production Program (AFBFPP).
Integrating the involvement of the teachers, parents, the youth, and various sectors in Camalig, this effort is also in line with the government’s viable response to the impacts of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic through implementation of innovative and sustainable agricultural strategies.
