The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (MDRRMO) distributes Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to heads and staff under the town’s various learning institutions.
With a salient catchphrase, “Sa kamay mo nakasalalay ang kaligtasan mo! Maging listo!”, said distribution of IEC materials forms part of LGU-Camalig’s constant implementation of community-centric interventions geared to promote disaster preparedness and resiliency.
Notable subjects stated in the brochure include disaster reminders and warning signals, checklists, facts, and preparedness and response to environmental risks at the household level.
The recent activity is also in observance of the National Resilience Month with the theme, “Tamang Pamamahala’t Kahandaan, Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan sa Sakuna at Pandemya’y Kalasag ng Bayan” which focuses on the LGU and the community’s crucial role in battling the impacts of disasters and the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In pursuit of the town’s zero-casualty goal through extension of disaster and pandemic awareness to the Camaligueño household, LGU-Camalig eyes to institutionalize proper and effective risk reduction to every family to ensure readiness in all types of eventualities.
