Last Saturday, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (MDRRMO) led a training for the Barangay Emergency Response Team (BERT) of Brgy. Palanog, MDRRMC Operations & Training Center, 2nd flr., Mytalic Bldg., Camalig Municipal Hall, Brgy. 2, Poblacion, Camalig, Albay.
During the activity, the MDRRMO relayed and coached basic first aid, lifting, bandaging and carrying techniques, reporting protocols and documentation, transport procedures, and other life-saving efforts.
Said training is anchored with the provisions under Executive Order No. 34 which aims to ensure safe and quality transport of patients with correct and applicable documentation.
The BERT training is scheduled every Saturday as part of LGU-Camalig’s intensive implementation of capacitating programs to improve the response capabilities of the barangays in the occurrence of disasters and emergencies.
The activity is also in observance of the National Resilience Month with the theme, “Tamang Pamamahala’t Kahandaan, Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan sa Sakuna at Pandemya’y Kalasag ng Bayan” which focuses on the LGU and the community’s crucial role in battling the impacts of disasters and the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
