The Municipal Health Emergency Response Team (MHERT) and personnel under the Goodfound Cement Corporation (GCC) have convened today in response to the alarming increase of Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases at said area.
 
Discussions during said meeting mainly delved in the intensification of COVID-19 prevention and control protocols while formulating interventions to sustain the corporation’s operations and the livelihood of its employees.
 
Said meeting also highlighted the importance of the mandatory quarantining/isolation, community monitoring/surveillance, and contact-tracing strategies which have shown significant results regarding virus containment.
 
The MHERT further suggested for the establishment of exclusive isolation facilities for GCC employees, limiting/alternation of work schedules, mass testing of Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR), and Antigen testing for GCC employees every 14 days.
 
Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carlos Irwin G. Baldo, Jr. likewise sought support from the Department of Health (DOH) in the provision of COVID-19 vaccines to boost LGU-Camalig’s pandemic recovery thrust.
 
As of September 20, 2021, Camalig, Albay has a total of 293 confirmed cases including 201 recoveries, 19 deaths, and 73 currently active – 21 are all from GCC alone.
