The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Office (MDRRMO) conducts area monitoring at Bungkaras Evacuation Center, Brgy. Bongabong as part of its advocacy in strengthening the pandemic response and recovery capabilities of LGU-Camalig.
During the visit, the MDRRMO kept track of the assigned personnel’s functions, ensuring their familiarity and efficiency in the COVID-related operations prior to the launching of the Bungkaras Evacuation Center as one of Camalig’s designated isolation facilities pursuant to MDRRMC Resolution No. 02-2021.
Twenty-five (25) modular tents are also currently set up in the establishment to mainly address the alarming increase of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the municipality which has demanded additional spaces for quarantine/isolation protocols.
The modular tents are set to accommodate COVID-positive residents and their close contacts – the patients will be regularly provided with healthcare, security, bedsheets, food, and other essentials during the mandatory quarantine period.
To ensure effective mitigation and containment, personnel under the MHO and MDRRMO are scheduled to render 24/7 supervision and management at said area.
Said intervention is also in consonance with Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carlos Irwin G. Baldo, Jr.’s mandate in delivering safe, clean, comfortable, and conducive areas for COVID-struck residents especially at present wherein the town bears the threat of local transmission.
