The Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) in partnership with LGU-Camalig led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, blessing, and inauguration of the Albay Provincial Cooperative Building, Brgy. Cabangan, Camalig, Albay.
The newly-constructed, 2-storey building is expected to enhance the capacity of existing cooperatives which have proven to play significant roles in economic development especially in rural areas over the years.
Participated by heads and functionaries of the PGA, Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, and various cooperatives in the town, the inauguration is set to lay the foundation for stronger partnerships between the community, the private sector, and the government, bringing a comprehensive approach to public service.
To complement relative efforts, the Municipal Cooperative Development Council (MCDC) and the Camalig Albay Credit Cooperative plan to maximize functions as the forefronts among local cooperatives in line with LGU-Camalig’s advocacy in promoting equity, social justice, poverty reduction, and sustainable local development.
The Camalig Albay Credit Cooperative is the oldest coop operating in Bicol Region.
