The traditional Monday flag-raising ceremony today was concluded with a timely cause as LGU-Camalig led the observance of the 44th National Disability Prevention & Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week, Camalig Municipal Hall grounds, Brgy. 2, Poblacion.
Bearing the theme, “Pamahalaan Kabalikat sa Pagtupad ng Pantay na Edukasyon, Trabaho at Kabuhayan, tugon sa Pagpapalakas ng Taong May Kapansanan”, the week-long event highlights the government’s relentless advocacy in promoting Person with Disability (PWD) empowerment especially amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Ms. Nineth Llasos, employee of the Municipal Social Welfare & Development Office (MSWDO) and resident of Brgy. Baligang further reiterated the importance of taking active roles in the upliftment of economic and social conditions of PWDs to which if sustained can result to a more harmonious and productive community for all – Ms. Llasos is listed among the several PWDs employed under LGU-Camalig.
The continuous employment of PWDs under the local government forms part of Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo, Jr.’s mandate in fostering an inclusive approach in public service, ensuring that PWDs will not be left behind in the delivery of basic services and other similar support.
Pursuant to Proclamation No. 361, the third week of July has been declared as the NDPR Week which is set to culminate on the birthdate of the sublime paralytic National Hero, Apolinario Mabini on July 23 each year.
