A familiar tourist spot in Camalig, Albay is set to undergo a major facelift, following the consultation meeting and ocular inspection led by the Municipal Tourism & Cultural Heritage Office (MTCHO).
LGU-Camalig in partnership with the Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH) plan to improve pathwalks and trails at the Quituinan Hill World War II Tunnels.
The development project also includes construction of cottages, improvement of landscapes and other sites, and setting up of a visitors information center.
The site improvement is likewise being sought to enhance the connectivity of attractions in the municipality.
Known for its several cultural and tourism assets, LGU-Camalig’s recent endeavor forms part of the local government’s drive in revitalizing said areas in order to improve tourist arrivals and accelerate local revenue which will redound to better and more effective delivery of basic services for the Camaligueños.
