LGU-Camalig through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Municipal Social Welfare & Development Office (MSWDO) provides food packs to families/close contacts of the town’s active Coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases.
As one measure in preventing possible transmission of COVID-19 to the community, the close contacts are directed to stay isolated for at least fourteen (14) days.
The provision of goods aims to cater the basic needs of the close contacts throughout the quarantining/isolation period.
To ensure strict implementation of prevention and control protocols, the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) activated in affected barangays regularly monitor the close contacts, subject for assessment by the Municipal Health Emergency Response Team (MHERT).
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, LGU-Camalig has been instrumental in delivering food support to Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs), and COVID-19 positive cases and their close contacts as part of the municipality’s intent in securing the welfare of affected Camaligueños amid the pandemic.
To date, Camalig, Albay has a total of 702 confirmed cases including 657 recoveries, 43 deaths, and 2 active.
