The Municipal Health Office (MHO) in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) led the launching
of the Chikiting Ligtas 2023 Supplemental Immunization Activity (SIA) – a municipal-wide vaccination to increase herd immunity and interrupt the transmission of measles, rubella, and polio in communities.

The month-long vaccination aims to cover at least 95% of the total targeted population in Camalig, Albay composed of infants and children aged 0-59 months
old.

20 vaccination teams under the MHO are currently deployed in various barangays to conduct the SIA.
LGU-Camalig eyes to complete SIA within four (4) weeks including rapid convenience monitoring (RCM), follow-ups for deferred children and refusals, and intensive mop ups to ensure that no infant or child is being missed.
As stated in Memorandum No. 2020-0378 by the Department of Health (DOH), SIA shall be conducted
even in the current context of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to prevent additional burden to the country’s health system.

In pursuit of LGU-Camalig’s goal in fostering a healthier and safer Camalig, said program is also in consonance with one of the mandates under Mayor Caloy’s 12-point Executive Agenda specifically responsive and intensive delivery of health services especially for the vulnerable sectors in town.
