Presided over by Villanueva, the meeting focused on the site development plan for the Quituinan WWII tunnels, highlighting the local government’s tourism project proposals to TIEZA. These proposals included installing solar lights on the pathway, restoring the tunnels and pathway, and making them accessible for tourism.

Villanueva proposed additional projects to bolster the discussed plans, such as constructing a zipline alongside the pathway, operating electronic cars like golf carts, and establishing kiosks as tourist rest areas.
After the meeting, accompanied by Camalig Heritage Tourism Council (CHTC) staff and Mr. Villanueva, the group visited the Quituinan Tunnel, Hoyop-hoyopan Cave and Quitinday Green Hills to assess the town’s tourism infrastructure in Camalig. TIEZA is set to visit remaining tourist sites tomorrow, September 20, 2024.
