A meeting was held at the Mayor’s Office today to talk over the improvement of roads and prevention of floods across Camalig, Albay.
The meeting was attended by Local Chief Executive Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr., Municipal Architect Arch. Sarah Jane Loma, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Punong Barangays (PBs) of Brgy. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and Tinago.
A highlight of the meeting was the implementation of DPWH’s project on the improvement of roads in Camalig, particularly the establishment of solar streetlights, reblocking of roads, and rehabilitation of drainage systems to prevent floods during calamities.
In anticipation of the coming All Souls’ and All Saints’ Day, the project is set to start immediately, prioritizing the barangays near memorial parks.
In his message, Mayor Caloy emphasized the importance of the project to the locals, saying, “Para su baha magadiretso na sa canal, su mga taw indi na abuton san baha, indi na madudumog ang mga sapatos.”
