The Polish Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency, Mr. Jarosław Szczepankiewicz, made a courtesy call to LGU-Camalig today, October 9, 2024. He was welcomed by Mayor Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo, Jr. at the Camalig Municipal Hall grounds in Brgy. 2, Poblacion.
Szczepankiewicz was with Polish Embassy Political and Economic Section Expert Ms. Jermaine Bohol and Northern Samar Cultural Officer Mr. Carl Jamie Simple Bordeos. They were accompanied by Municipal Tourism & Cultural Heritage Office (MTCHO) head Mr. Jed L. Villanueva and staff, and officers from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).
The Ambassador’s visit forms part of the Museums and Galleries Month Celebration, which will culminate in the Turnover of Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Resolution No. 1620, s. 2024 tomorrow, October 10, 2024. This resolution declares Polish priest Fr. Cantius J. Kobak, OFM, as a Significant Personality of Camalig, Albay due to his archeological contributions.
The team is also scheduled to tour Sumlang Lake in Brgy. Sumlang and Quituinan Ranch in Tinago later today.
