LGU-Camalig recently achieved a double victory in local governance, receiving two prestigious awards during the 2024 Local Government Month Regional Recognition Ceremony at La Piazza Hotel and Convention Center in Legazpi City.

Camalig was awarded a plaque of recognition for a High Functional rating of 110% for its unwavering commitment to combating human trafficking and violence against women and children (VAWC). The recognition was a result of the local government’s dedication in implementing effective programs and policies to protect the vulnerable sectors of the community.

Adding to this success, Brgy. Cotmon was honored with a plaque for being a Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) award. The national distinction recognizes barangays that demonstrate progressive performance in public service, delivering equitable and quality services to their residents.

The awards were received by Cotmon Punong Barangay (PB) Hon. Dennise Misolania, Social Worker Ms. April Joy Sabdao from Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Meredith Basquiñas.
