
LGU-Camalig has been recognized as the 4th Most Improved Municipality in the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) at the Bicol Regional Development Council’s (RDC) 4th Quarter Full Council meeting, yesterday, December 4, 2024, in Camarines Norte. Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer (LEDIPO) Ms. Karen V. Bolaños accepted the award.
Camalig’s impressive climb from the 227th spot last year to the top 4 in the 1st-2nd class municipality category, underscores the local government’s commitment to improving its competitiveness in the pillars of economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation.
Town Mayor Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo, Jr. expressed his gratitude to individuals who contributed to this success, saying, “Nais naming pasalamatan ang sektor ng negosyo, ang ating masisipag na kapwa ko lingkod-bayan at iba pang departamento at ahensya sa ilalim ng LGU-Camalig, pati na rin ang mga katuwang na pambansang ahensya at mga stakeholder. Ang kanilang pagsisikap at kooperasyon ay nagbigay-daan sa pag-unlad at pagsigla ng ekonomiya ng Camalig, na naging susi sa tagumpay na ito.”
He emphasized that the true winners are the Camaligueños whose unwavering support and collaboration played a pivotal role in driving the municipality’s progress, “Ang tunay na nagwagi dito ay hindi lamang ang lokal na gobyerno kundi ang mga mamamayan ng Camalig, na patuloy na nakikilahok, sumusuporta, at nakikiisa sa ating mga plano, programa, at aktibidad. Ang tagumpay ng bayan ay tagumpay ng lahat.”
