In line with the Government’s efforts to further support livelihood projects, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) launched the Innovation’s Caravan today, April 30, 2025 at the Socorro’s The Venue, Brgy. Sumlang, Camalig, Albay.
 
Participated by government officials, partner agencies, and Walang Gutom Program beneficiaries, the caravan featured the Orientation of Productivity Fair and Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas Roadshow and Walang Gutom Kusinero Cook-Off Challenge, which gathered culinary artists hailing from different barangays across the Bicol Region.
 
Said cooks presented various dishes that include the Pumpkin Fried Rice by Gemma Buenaflor and Joel Padayao from Brgy. Buenasuerte, Lupi, Camarines Sur, “Ginataang Tabagwang” by Catherine Parahinog and Jastine Bigtas from Brgy. Caranggang, Magarao, “Kinunot na Tapas” by Cresidia Peñol from Brgy. Rawis, Donsol, Sorsogon, Okoy Veggie Bites in Sweet-Chili Glaze by Melinda Armario and Christian Armario from Brgy. 44, Pawa, Legazpi City, and “Pinasustansyang Tinolang Manok sa Buko” by Sybel Mercader and Trinidad Vibal from Brgy. Tigbi, Tiwi, Albay.
 
In his message, Municipal Mayor Hon. CarlosCaloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr. underscored the importance of the Walang Gutom Program initiated by the DSWD, saying, “Itong program, tulong nila satin para maangat ang ating buhay at para matulungan tayo na makasimula ng mga livelihood.”
