Mayon Volcano Cultural Landscape set for inscription to UNESCO World Heritage List; National Government officials, stakeholders visit Camalig, Albay
 
Officials of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), UNESCO–National Commission of the Philippines, and partner stakeholders visited famous tourist spots of Camalig, Albay, following the nomination for inscription of the Mayon Volcano Cultural Landscape to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
 
Warmly welcomed by Town Mayor Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr., the Municipal Tourism and Cultural Heritage Office (MTCHO), and St. John the Baptist Parish (SJBP), the visitors’ itinerary included the SJBP, Quituinan Hills/Ranch, and Sumlang Lake.
 
Said visitors were composed of Regalado Trota Jose Jr, NHCP Chairperson, Arch. Reynaldo Lita, NHCP Chief Restoration, Joseph Patrick Lee, Chief of NCCA Cultural Properties Regulation Division, Rajee Florido, Program Officer for Culture of UNESCO–National Commission of the Philippines, Jose Mayo Pataunia, UNESCO–National Commission of the Philippines, Chris Newhall, Geologist, and officials of the National Museum of the Philippines–Bicol, Albay Provincial Tourism, Culture, and the Arts Office (PTCAO), Diocese of Legazpi, and Bicol University (BU).
