Camalig National High School (CNHS) ranked first in the recent regional competition for 2023 Nestle Wellness Campus Best Implementing School and will advance to the national level, representing Bicol region.
CNHS secured the spot for its innovative approaches in promoting 7 healthy habits among students, parents, and other stakeholders, namely Choose Nutritious and Varied Options, Manage Portions, Drink Water and Milk, Play Actively, Enjoy Meals Together, Keep Good Hygiene, and Care for the Planet.
The school’s joint efforts led to the successful execution of the “Sama Sama Tayo sa Wellness” dance exercise, which was participated in by 1,571 junior high school students and stakeholders, primarily to encourage physical fitness, overall health, and collaborative learning among students.
11 secondary schools around the Bicol region competed, bringing Cristo Rey Integrated School from Iriga City in 2nd place, Federico A. Estipona Memorial High School from Masbate province in 3rd place, Abucay National High School from Sorsogon province in 4th place, and Amtic National High School from Ligao City in 5th place.
Nestle Wellness Campus is a nutrition education advocacy program of Nestlé Philippines in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) that supports wide-ranging health awareness campaigns meant to preserve well-being through healthy eating, physical activity, stress management, self-care, and illness prevention.
