Following its cross-visitation in San Pedro City, Laguna, officials and delegates from Camalig, Albay, continued its benchmarking activity at the Sentrong Pamilihan ng Produktong Agrikultura sa Quezon, popularly known as “Procy”.

In line with his goal of venturing into market development and expansion, Mayor Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr. aimed of having a centralized marketplace in town that provides accessibility to agricultural resources and offers a hub for farmers, traders, and consumers alike to facilitate business.

With an estimated area of 1.4 hectares, “Procy” which is located at Sariaya, Quezon, offers a 24/7 operation which hosts about 2,000 farmers and hundreds of traders.

Mayor Caloy on the other hand, considered these practices applicable for Camalig, knowing that the town is rich with food crops, particularly fruits and vegetables, that can be harvested for profit and for human consumption, helping local farmers to trade their harvests in bulk.

LGU- Camalig sees that by expanding the marketplace, it can create multiple sources and opportunities towards leading agriculture and livelihood sectors to long-term growth.
