In a bid to ensure the accessibility of water in schools, the Local School Board (LSB) is currently working to carry out the installation of water tanks in public schools in Camalig, Albay.

Presided over by Mayor Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr., the monthly LSB meeting highlighted that the installation of 16 units of elevated water tanks will be divided equally among public schools under Camalig North District and South District, purposely to aid schools in barangays with intermittent water supply.

Water being one of life’s basic necessities, Mayor Caloy echoed that through water tanks, schools can now store more water during off-peak hours, providing clean and safe water for sanitation, drinking, and other daily uses of teachers and learners.

The aforementioned project is in line with the joint efforts of LGU-Camalig and the Department of Education (DepEd) to enhance the quality of water and sanitation facilities in schools and maintain a safe and healthy environment for teachers and students to function.
