Mayor Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr., along with the department heads, convened today, March 21, 2024, for the 3rd Management Committee (ManCom) meeting of 2024, where various updates and concerns were laid out and encountered with recommended solutions.
Following the recent benchmarking activity held in San Pedro City and Sariaya, Quezon, department heads gained valuable insights and learned about the best practices of the city government of San Pedro. They are now considering how to adapt and implement these strategies within their own departments.
The knowledge-exchange session has provided the ManCom with opportunities to identify areas for improvement and reflect on the status of LGU performance focused in the areas of administration, delivery of social services, economic development, tourism promotion, environmental management, agriculture, health, market administration, community affairs, and enforcing financial and tax policies in the municipality.
Aiming towards a results-oriented and systematic institution, the department heads and their respective jurisdictions were urged to improve meeting culture and organizational processes in line with Mayor Caloy’s 12-Point Executive Agenda by initially dividing the team into two clusters: mainstream units and support units.
The following steps and agreement of ManCom is to hold at least one meeting per month to set achievable goals, determine collective intents, and strategize for the success of major projects and initiatives by each department in order to produce a greater number and quality of outputs.
Moreover, ManCom is planning to have a workshop to enhance internal systems and services, as well as to further examine all recommendations for facilitating communication and operational process flow.
