The Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA) presidents in town convened purposely to talk over the preliminary conditions for claiming the Php1,000 worth of fuel subsidy from the national government.

Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO), Ms. Meredith Basquiñas, emphasized that only active and registered trike drivers are eligible for the said benefit.

Said subsidy is hinged upon the ongoing implementation of the “Fuel Subsidy Program,” also referred to as the “Pantawid Pasada Program,” which aims to mitigate the risk of increasing fuel costs, which has made it more challenging to maintain public transportation operations.

Meanwhile, Mayor Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr. has mandated the tricycle operators and drivers to display the updated fare matrix inside their vehicles to help commuters calculate the reasonable cost of the ride and avoid being overcharged.
