Small local business owners across Camalig received cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), today at the Camalig Command Center (CCC), Brgy. Salugan, Camalig, Albay.
One of the main objectives of the SLP is to provide support to economically disadvantaged households and communities nationwide. A total of 23 micro-entrepreneurs from various barangays of Camalig including Brgy. 1, Bariw, Comun, Gotob, Iluluan, Palanog, Salugan, Quinaritan, Taloto, and Tagoytoy received the said assistance.
Eeme Solano, an owner of a local ‘pansitan’ in Brgy. 1 received P10,000.00 and expressed her appreciation by saying, “Maugma! dangan Malangrayun sading suporta.”
Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin Baldo Jr., also expressed his unwavering support for the beneficiaries. “Sana di kamo magbawas, sana magdakul kina magdakulo. Good luck sainyo!” he said.
The event was also graced by former Ako Bicol (AKB) Partylist Congressman, Hon. Christopher “Kito” S. Co, who likewise conveyed support for the interventions of DSWD.
