
Camalig MSWDO intensifies fights against human trafficking with comprehensive orientation
In a bid to further combat and prevent human trafficking, the Camalig Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), led by Edlyn Noble, RSW, held an orientation on Republic Act 10364, or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
The orientation, held at the 2nd Floor, Camalig Command Center (CCC) in Brgy. Salugan, was attended by Town Mayor Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr., Municipal Budget Officer Benjamin Nuyda, Tricycle (Parada) Presidents, owners of relevant establishments, Violence Against Women (VAW) Desk Persons, and members of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking-Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC).
The orientation was marked by a series of comprehensive discussions that featured the salient features of R.A. 10364 by PLt Cynthia Sallan, Protocol on Handling Child Abuse Cases by Ms. Shieramae Dado, RSW, SWO II and Ms. Rhoda L. Mendaros, RSW, SWO II, Women and Child Safe Tourism by Mr. Paulo Samson, TOO II and the Municipal Ordinance of Anti-Trafficking in Persons by Municipal Councilor Hon. Purisima “Ching” Nocedo.
In his message, Town Mayor Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr. underscored the importance of the orientation in preventing human trafficking, saying, “Usad yadi sa mga pinaka importanteng topic na dapat pirmi natun pigadiscuss kasi udi an mga pagi para mapugulan ta ang human trafficking kina maprotektaran an satun na mga taw.”
