LGU-Camalig concludes National Women’s Month with tree-growing initiative
 
A tree-growing activity, organized as part of the National Women’s Month celebration, took place in Purok 5, Brgy. Tinago, Camalig today, March 27, 2025. The initiative, led by Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Person Ms. Chyrel San Andres, brought together over 150 participants to contribute to environmental sustainability.
 
The event was a collaborative effort, partnering with the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Guinobatan and the Camalig Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).
 
Participants included officials and personnel from the local government and its partner agencies, including Municipal Councilor Hon. Purisima “Ching” Nocedo, the Barangay Council of Tinago, the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Camalig Fire Station (FS), and Camalig Training Center (CTC).
 
The tree-growing activity served as a symbol of growth and sustainability, highlighting the government’s commitment to environmental protection, and the vital role women play in fostering positive change and building a greener future for Camalig.
