Among those who benefitted was the Municipality of Camalig, Albay. Camalig Mayor Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo, Jr. was present to officially receive the vehicle, reaffirming the town’s focus on being efficient in its disaster and medical response capabilities.
The initiative forms part of the collaboration between the national government and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). Its goal is to address gaps in emergency healthcare services, especially in rural and high-risk areas.
In his statement, Baldo expressed his thanks for the assistance received: “Taos-puso po ang aming pasasalamat kay Pres. BBM sa pagbigay nito. This, surely, will strengthen the emergency and health response of LGU-Camalig, lalong-lalo na po sa mga malalayong barangay namin. Salamat po BBM at PCSO.”
LGU-Camalig now has a total of six ambulances, which will further improve the local government’s capacity to respond during emergencies and disasters.
